Facebook has become the King of online destinations, representing 1/4 of all page views on the Web. Simply amazing. So, is Facebook the most dominant player in the world of media at large, too?
Let’s look at the numbers. Facebook attracted 151 million unique users in October, according to ComScore, with a total of 42 billion minutes of viewing time. The television station, CBS, attracted almost 240 million users in the same month, with a total of 210 billion minutes of viewing time.
What does this mean? That CBS is five times bigger than Facebook. The closest TV comparison? PBS. Facebook’s huge. But TV’s still way bigger.
