One of the leading live video streaming services, Ustream, is now allowing users to monetize their Webcasts.
This opens up the door wide open for a new generation of entertainment. Can’t afford the $200 ticket price to the U2 concert? What if they live streamed it for a $5 viewing charge? What if you could see your favorite European band live in a Dublin bar, all from the convenience of your bedroom? And all for a $3 live streaming fee?
Yes, it’s like pay-per-view. And that’s why it’s called “Open Pay Per View”, which allows Ustream broadcasters to charge for streaming content directly through PayPal. Now, while I’m interested in seeing live music, the average local business might start immediately taking advantage of this service for monetizing Webinars, conferences and more.
