Apps have quickly become the hottest feature of smartphones like the iPhone as well as the iPad. And Apple is hoping to bring the popularity of these quick-games and fun applications to the home computer. Users can download free apps and purchase free apps through the Mac App Store using their existing iTunes accounts. The Mac store is available for Snow Leopard operating system users through a simple software update.
Although not as open as the Android App Store, developers of Mac apps can set their own prices and can keep 70% of sales revenue.
