Last year, Google’s Matt Cutts broke the news that Google that the company wants to consider taking site speed into consideration to help improve the ranking factors for search results.
Maile Ohye, Senior Developer Programs Engineer for Google as SMX, talked about Web site performance speed and how it relates to search rankings and the user experience.
When it comes to speed in terms of a ranking factor, Ohye made the point that these changes won’t just all of a sudden make the faster Web sites rank better and the slower Web sites rank a lot worse. It will, however, enhance the user experience.
