By the end of 2012, mobile searches will supposedly make up 1 in 5 total online searches. This coming from various mobile and tablet devices. But, it also looks like mobile is becoming more and more app-based. Less of a re-structuring and designing the current Web for mobile. But rather, creating mobile-specific apps to house different kinds of information – more pressing to a mobile user.
So that brings up a new question. If apps replace traditional search engines on mobile, then how will you search for new apps? Through social means? Through word-of-app? Through constantly checking the trending app popularity with your app providers?
Or will search become app-based? Google is already making mobile search easier through voice activation. Perhaps search will continue to evolve as well?
