Finally. Groupon has introduced a real incentive to social sharing – perhaps even more than LivingSocial’s “Refer 3, Get Yours Free”, which is what has made me prefer LivingSocial in the past as my favorite daily deals player.
Groupon Rewards is a new loyalty program. But not in the way you might think. For instance, I assumed that once I bought $200 worth of Groupon Deals, I’d get a free deal or something.
Not exactly. This rewards system works directly with a retailer’s Point of Sale systems. Let’s say Baby Gap is a Groupon partner. You spend $500 at Baby Gap. You get exclusive access to a special Baby Gap Groupon deal if you would like it.
This is Groupon’s way to prevent the one-time daily deal cash-in. Now, it incentivizes your already good customers to become great.
It’s inspired.
