For all intents and purposes, Baidu has crushed Google in China. And yet, a higher up within this monopolistic presence has said he would like to see Facebook in China. Kaiser Kuo, Director of International Communications for Baidu made these comments recently. And those comments took many by surprise.
Because in America, Google and Facebook act pretty competitively. As if one is in direct conflict/competition with the other. Yet, we’ve seen the benefits that Facebook has been able to bring to Bing through their integration. So perhaps Baidu wants the enhanced benefit of having those integrations, while reigning as the number one search engine provider. And thinks that those integrations may be exactly what they need to stay there for the long term.
