So, now that apps have moved from the smartphone to your home computer, are apps going to be as big of a hit in this world? Because browser extensions have been filling this void and gaining popularity for the past year now.
Well, here’s the thing. Some applications make more sense as browser extensions. Evernote. Facebook. Twitter. All make sense in your browser. Because they’re browser-oriented to begin with. You use Evernote to make notes of sites you’re at. Facebook and Twitter come from the browser world, too.
So, what about app games? Well perhaps games make more sense in app form. Especially when they need to be full screen. Especially since there’s no real need for them to be integrated within your browser. But for those of us who spend most of their day within the browser world, maybe browser extensions make more sense in general.
