Patients Demanding To Hear From Their Providers

Patients all over are getting frustrated when their doctor doesn’t answer them. Studies have shown from the Health Data Management, a number of patients are emailing directly to their physicians and those have tripled. Research also shows that 93 percent of respondents would prefer to have email communications with their doctors and only a quarter of them respond.

Their is a new option now for patients and doctors to communicate better with one another. Their is an online portal that provides a easy access for patients. Its another type of communication without giving headaches and having unhappy people. This keeps the patients happy and healthy. Portals have increased the satisfaction, health and has reduced phone tags and emails.

No more having an email, call to get the answers you need, or looking at the frequently asked questions and answer. Practices are now able to send test results to the portal. If patients don’t know how to register educate them and have them take advantage of these new services that are available for them. Practices should explain benefits and provide instructions on how to use it, and it will pay off.

Choosing Which Social Network Is Best For Your Dental Practice

A way to promote your dental practice over social media would be to choose the most effective platform that can hold the potential and to achieve maximum mileage. Each dental practice will have to make it’s own choices and marketing social media strategy. Here are a few helpful ideas on a few leading social networks that could be used for your dental practice.

Facebook has different advantages over the other social networks because almost everybody you know has an active Facebook profile. It allows readers to choose the kind of updates they want and what they want to view most often and share and interact with others. Dental practices have more flexible opportunity to represent itself.

With some dental practices they have short and informative videos to engage potential patients. YouTube is a very powerful network. Google plus can achieve much stronger content that is effective and compelling.

Dental practices that believe in taking images about their practice says more than a words. Pinterest is a place to post images and creativity ideas for a future product or service. The content sharing platforms allows members to “pin” images and videos to their own board, and it’s a wide audience that can open up to the public.

Twitter is another way to text message. You post what your thinking or how you are feeling, or another way to post information about someones business. Facebook users can read what they choose what to look at and respond when they please to.

Overlooked Components On A Medical Website

All medical websites should include a home page, service page, treatment, directions and parking, contact forms and educational history. Most practices understand that those main pages are very important to have. Here are a few things to check off when creating your site.

1) New Patient

On your medical website, it contains a new patient form for them to fill out before they can come to into your office. It’s also best to include a fact sheet on some commonly asked questions.

2) Having information in all languages

Not everyone can speak English, in your common area. Make a note that you have other files for those who speak another language, so they don’t feel left out.

3) Web Portal Login and Prescription Refill

A link should be provided for patients that want to log into your site. Including information about prescription refill policies.

4) Health Insurance

Listing all Health insurance companies on your medical site that you include. This is also a great way for users to get an idea on what other companies have to offer as far as, payment plans, fees, and billing. Less phones calls about it all the better.

5) After Hours

If it’s an emergency, or a medical call post your information on your site, so your patients are able to reach you at all times.

How A Healthcare Practice Can Succeed Online

No matter if you are a plastic surgeon, chiropractor, dermatologist, or any type of dentist, it is important to make sure you are being found online if you have a website. More and more people are using their mobile phones and tablets to research a company and you want to make sure you are being found when people are searching you. When done correctly, medical marketing can effectively improve the number of patients visiting your website and build your brand reputation. With the help of our carefully strategized approaches, Windy City Strategies’ Internet marketing specialists can help you achieve this goal.

Some ways to increase traffic on your website are to make sure you have the right online marketing campaigns to drive up the number of people seeing your company name. In order to have a successful online medical marketing campaign, it is important to continue (or start) writing blogs, articles, newsletters, etc. This will allow patients to see your name and may end up being a potential client if they click on one of the links attached within each blog or article.

We encourage our clients to have well-written, original content on their websites. It will allow you to stand out not only from your competitors, but in the eyes of Google as well.  If you and 20 other orthodontist websites all have the same content, the odds of you ending up on the first or even second page are slim to none. The more content you have available, the higher your chances are of being ranked higher within the first few pages of Google.

Every doctor or dentist would say they would like more referrals. In reality, many healthcare professionals miss the opportunity to care for critical patient care because their staff was tracking them on paper or in Excel and about 60-70% of the referrals were not being received and the practice ended up losing money. In order to avoid this issue, an electronic referral program would help you keep track of each referral better so you are not losing any potential patients and your patients are getting the care they need.

If you would like your healthcare practice to succeed online, using these few tips are a great start, or contacting an Internet marketing specialist at Windy City Strategies. We will work with you and your practice to ensure you have a successful online practice.

3 Things You Need To Know about Dental Website Design and Internet Marketing

Getting a Dental website design should be an easy process, but the problem is that most dentists do not have the time to sit down and learn about the web design and Internet marketing industry.  When you finally have to get a design, it could be a daunting task, and sometimes cost is the factor that you use to pick your company, but that is not right.

Here are some things to consider when picking a Dental website design and Internet marketing company:

1. Make sure you own the site.  Some things a company will say is, we have proprietary software or easy to use online website editor within their software.  Stay away from those because when you leave the company they will hold your website hostage until you pay some sort of financial settlement.  Make sure the company provides you FTP information or at least your WordPress login and password that is under your name/company.

2. Double check the content they provide.  One of the worst things a company can do to you is utilize plagiarized content.  There are a lot of companies out there that use a cookie cutter method to keep costs down and recycle content by changing out the city and company name, but the rest stays the same.  This content is plagiarized so you will not get the results on the Internet that you want.  Think about it, if you removed the name Harry Potter from the book series and replaced it with your name and then tried to publish it, would you get published?  No.  A simple way to see if other sites are using your content is copy a paragraph and put it into Google search.  If you see lots of bolds, then you need to rewrite your content.

3. Images.  A big business now-a-days is going after people that use pictures on their website and do not pay for them.  Do not do this.  Companies like Getty Images are using software to scan websites and they will send you a friendly letter to pay up, and it is not cheap.  I’ve seen between $500 to $2000 depending on the size of the image.  Now if you take it down right away, you should be ok, because sometimes you just don’t know if a web design company does this practice, but just to be safe, ask the website design company where they get their images or better yet, provide them on your own.

Setting Up Location Preference For Dental Internet Marketing

When setting up your AdWords or AdCenter account, setting up the location and language preference is one of the most important things to be done.  Think about it, if you target the wrong area or don’t do it at all you risk showing your ad to people that are not in your area and all you do is waste your marketing dollars, and then complain that pay per click advertising does not work.  We hear this quite often, and for us at Windy City Strategies, we find that to be horrible, because there is no other marketing that you can put an ad in front of somebody looking for your service at the exact moment that they are looking for you and only pay when they click on you.  Other  factors like the Content Network stifle budgets too, but that is for another blog :-)

Here is how you set it up correctly within AdWords:

1. Whether you are new to AdWords or have an existing account, it is in the same spot: Campaign Settings.

2. Once you get in there scroll down to Locations.

3. Here you pick out the city.  You can do a couple things here.  Pick out all the cities you want your clients coming from, or pick the city you are in and do a mile radius of around 20 miles.  This is based on IP Adresses, so Google does recommend at least a 10 mile radius.  Better to go too small than too big and not be correctly targeted.  Either way works on targeting.

4.  Hit save.

5. Now you have to test if you are targeted correctly.  Are you getting calls at least?  If you went too big of an area, you will get calls from cities you do not want, so narrow the search a bit.  Test, test, test :-)  This will really help your Dental Internet marketing.

Windy City Strategies specializes in dental website design and dental Internet marketing solutions. With over 10 years of experience, our staff of expert web designers and Internet marketers have been leading the way with advanced solutions for dental companies by delivering customized strategies with you and your patient in mind.
